Car had a 72 302 with C-4 that was getting a little weak. Picked up a 94 302 with O.D. trans for 600 bucks, 37,000 miles and a promise that it was all in great condition. Well I've been working on trying to get it running now for 4 days after work. Changed the water pump set up, put a 8020 Wieand intake with an Edelbrock 600 carb. Put a MSD dist & 6a box. Problem no spark. Put a Ford Dura spark set up with the MSD box still no spark. Put a Ford 302 dist. with a Pretronix set up in it. Motor runs on 4 cyl. only & sounds like*****. Had the girl friend Goggle a 94, 302. Hey they changed the fireing order on their motors in 1985 to the same as a 351. Ran, but still didn't sound very potent. Pulled all the plugs, some were wet & I had 5 cool header pipes. Compression test showed from 0 to 150 in different cyl. Took my Cobra, powered by Ford valve covers off to check out the valve train. All looked OK, turned the valve cover over & I could see where the rocker arms were hitting on the covers. Put the original ones back & I'm good to go. Hope I sleep better tonight.

First roller rockers need the higher valve covers .

So what problem are you having NOW ? Is it running or not ?
