Technical 54 Mercury Tail lamps

my 51 Merc has lenses only on the rear, and I am looking for a bezel. The original 54 housings have a back up light at the bottom.

Are people just cutting down the housing, or it there a different bezel I should be looking for?

 

I believe they just cut off the backup light part.

 

Have a good quality close in photo of your taillight that you can post? By close in I mean 3 or 4 ft and not the 30 footer that shows the whole car that you can just make out the light.

First ones with the loop of the housing broken and missing backup lights per Kid Rocker's add in the cl***ifieds (sold).

Second shot, repro 54 lenses on Ebay.

Third shot in their native habitat with park lights.
If the trim is around the lenses my guess is that they cut the housings off just below chrome strip that separates the red from the clear.
