1952-59 Ford 54 Olds tail lights

How are you guys installing the olds tail lights. I thought of just cleaning up the outside edge and slipping them inside of the ford tail light then running in two screws. Is that anywhere near right ?

Thats the way I did years ago.

 

That's they way I have seen them done on cars at shows !

Ohhhh, it was sooo many years ago, but I thought I used lenses form a 56 Olds. They had three screws. If you put the lense in upside down, one screw lines up, and you drill and tap two more holes. I used br*** screws from the hardware store so they never rusted in.

I ran 54 Olds taillight lens on my 53 up until two years ago and that is the way I had mine mounted.

 

Here's another way to mount '54 Olds tail lights. More complicated than drilling a couple of new holes, but I think a whole lot better...
