54 skyliner in Ohio

Hello All,
I live in Ohio, and have restored a few cars and have owned many Mustangs and one Cuda. I am purchasing a 54 Skyliner and the cars in pretty sad shape, I'll have to do some kind of patch repair on almost every panel, the original motor is froze up, and the chrome and interior are both shot.
I'm not sure if a restoration is going to work for me, I might have to add some flare to the car since it needs so much work. The car is Killarney Green with a white vinyl and green diamond interior, three on the tree and power nothing. I be looking here for advice about the engine, whether to keep original or what Y-block is best, and other parts that might work on the car.
