OK fellas I need some help please.
I have a 54 Customline with a 239 Y-block and three on the tree with the overdrive option. I have to buy a clutch ***embly due to it not engaging into gear without slamming it in. I have adjusted the fork and can get it to work great but not sure how long that will last. I may have tighten the nut to much due to the burning smell when I shift.
A buddy of mine works at a shop and has offered to switch out the ***embly which would be much faster to do than at home with a floor jack. According to the book it shows two different sizes to choose from for both pressure plate and clutch plate. How can I tell what size I have without taking it apart first? Should I order both sizes and return the one I don't need? The work would be done on a Saturday when the shop is closed and according to him it would only take 3 to 4 hours to complete.

Anyone know what size I will need or parts? throwout bearing?

    thanks in advance.

Order both and the throw out bearing and pilot bushing, after 60 years you never know what might be in there.
