i found everything but the info for the interior and the 'production code'.... any good references. i googled for 2 hours last nite. also turns out that although i believed this car to be a customline (mainly because it has the full stainless package on the body) it turns out to be a mainline (which explains the plain window rubber.) just another in a long line of weirdo cars that have some unique quirk....
Is this what you used to decode the VIN? http://www.vehicleidentificationnumber.com/ford_1948-1951.html
I have that link and other info I have collected about the 54 Ford on my blog. If you are looking for info. http://1hot54.blogspot.com
Look at the body code on your VIN tag and post it and I can look it up.Send Retro Jim a pm and He can hook you up with the FORD Parts Manual on CD for $10,it has all that info plus exploded views of the entire car from 1949-59 and all the component part numbers.
You can go to the Love Fords website and they can decode your VIN. http://forum.love-fords.org/forum.php
List the color and the trim code and I'll see how it compares with the 53. I have all the 52 and 53 codes.
For 1956 the color combos are the following. You should be able to take your 2 digit interior code and use this list if the letters stayed the same. I don't have a list for the interior trim colors, but I got that info from the love fords website. Here is my VIN and what it means. 64C KE BL 28B 297 64C-Fairlane Victoria KE-color (Fiesta Red/Colonial White) BL-trim (White vinyl and Red cloth interior) 28B-date (Feb 28) 297-Order Number 1956 A RAVEN BLACK 1956 E COLONIAL WHITE 1956 J BUCKSKIN TAN 1956 K FIESTA RED 1956 L PEA**** BLUE 1956 M GOLDEN GLOW YELLOW 1956 T THUNDERBIRD GRAY 1956 X NAVAJO GRAY 1956 Y SUNSET CORAL 1956 Z THUNDERBIRD GREEN

According to the 53-55 Ford Soft Trim Parts Catalog the trim code A for 1954 is GRAY AND MAROON STRIPE BROADCLOTH. The body type codes are all the same for 52-55.
my trim code for a 53 ford crestline victoria is AD - does anyone know what this means? I can't find it
ha!! - thanks carnut341 that explains it - my wife was calling it pink and I kept saying coral (more macho than pink) but i guess i will have to **** it up and stick with flamingo. not sure if I can keep the interior - the garnish is original "flamingo" but the seats look UT burnt orange & white. could the color on the seats have changed/faded to this orange over the years or ???? the door pannels are gone but the back seat pannels are the same orange color as the seats
Oh lord I'd have to take a rattle can to that dash! LoL maybe paint it white or something, My brother gives me hell about the color of mine as it is and i think its tan but of course he says its pink, I know I'd have many a arguement if my interior was flamingo.
