I'm looking at a couple Offy 0310 bell housings, 322 Buick to Early Ford toploader. My plan is to then get a narrow toploader to '83-'93 Ford V8 T5 adapter. Does anyone have any idea what clutch forks will work with the 0310?
I have no idea on the fork..but... When you start stacking adapters that were never meant to be stacked, you sure might end up with an input shaft that is too short. Sometimes an extended pilot bushing will work, as long as it's not too long to hit the clutch disc. No idea why you want a T5 ?, as that motor in a light car can easily handle a highway rear end ratio without needing OD .
The 0310 should put the input shaft of a toploader to a correct location to the 322, then the toploader to Ford V8 T5 adapter should do the same. I'm not putting a S10 four banger T5 behind a 322, toploaders don't have wide enough gearing for a 322, there isn't a direct Ford T5 to 322 bell available. Calculated RPM in overdrive with a 3.5 rear is about 2000 rpm. @65 mph. Can run that all day long. No overdrive and a 3.0 rear gets to about 2500 rpm. @65 mph, not as good, and will certainly be going over 65 on the highway. Planning a coast to coast trip with this setup.
