Does anyone know if the bumper guards are the same on the 55 & 56 full size Fords? (got the wrong years on the header) I know there is a left & right, just don't know if the same ones fit both years. Thanks
I think they are but don't hold me to it . When I bought my 55 Fairlane it only had the 2 on the front . Took the off but still kept them for some reason . I hate to throw away good parts . Jim
yes, those bumper guards are the same for both 55 and 56 full size Fords. The only difference would be the rear bumper guards on wagons of course...
I'm missing the right front guard on my 56 and I just bought a rechromed one on eBay for $45 (haven't received it yet). I just wasn't sure if they were the same. I bought a set of four when I got the car but by the time I got around to installing them I realized I had three for the 56 and one that didn't fit and the shop I bought them from changed owners and I was out of luck. Got my new bumper guard. Can anyone tell by the pictures what year my other guard is for? This is the one for the 56. This is the other one. They are identical except where it curves around the bumper at the bottom, outlined in red. The mounting bolt won't line up with the bumper because of the shape of the guard. If anyone knows what year it is for and needs the guard make me an offer. It is for the front right or rear left side. I also have a Hurst Indy 3 speed shifter I took out as it won't work with the new 5 speed. It was in the car for about a year, works perfectly. It sells new at Summit for $170.95.
