Hey guys do you know if anyone makes a bolt in c notch for a 55-59 Chevy truck. I can’t weld and hoping to find a bolt in so I can get it on the road. My frame is sitting on the Rearend

I don’t think bolting in is the best approach. You’d have to use a great deal of accuracy to drill the holes, and make sure the shoulders on the bolts fit snug on the notch as well as into the frame. Like how rivets are put in.
    I know, no help.

Check out some threads on here to see how others have done it. Then fabricate the pieces up and get someone to do the welding for you. I would say a bolt in one is definitely a NO NO.

  4. Never seen a bolt in c section before.

If you fit it and do all the prep work a mobile welder will weld it in for under $200 bucks.
Up here anyways in maple syrup money.

check around by you and see prices. Then it’s done correctly , lots going on back there to have a section of frame bolted together.

Might be a good time to buy a Mig and learn............Just don't buy a HF or a 110 volt flux wire machine. You will find that making two pieces of metal stick together forever isn't that hard, even if your welds are not beautiful.

  6. I think it could be done with fish plates, but I probably would not make one that way.

Like as has been said get a weld in unit do all the fit up and grinding prior and pay someone to weld it in for you. Really cool stuff is never cheap I am afraid.

No better place to learn how to weld than on the frame. :)

But seriously, not against anyone learning to weld but from I see on this site, a newbie welder thinks that by grinding a weld smooth covers all sins and that may not be the approach to take here.

    Find somebody to weld it!
OR.........find a welder that will use your machine and show YOU how to set it up and weld.
    IF you can't learn in 30 minutes.........you ain't try'in!! (It's that EZ)
