55 Chevy 427 racecar hidden for many moons needs to get out! Will you guys help us co

This 55 was built back in the early 70s.Very nicely done! Very cool radius on rear wheel openings, matches front wheel openingI happened to spy it as the owner was workin on it and so I just rode my bicycle over and started to chat a bit with the guy.I stopped back a couple times and then never saw the car again...this was maybe 1974 or 75. I just ran into the guys son,and he gave me these fairly recent pics.He says he is tryin to get dad to get car runnin. The kid races and even works at the local dragstrip! Car was finished and raced the 1975 season.Details are sketchy but was told motor blew up at finish line. I don't know if it was only raced one season or....I don't know if it's still blown up or....Car was built in Arnie "The Farmer" Beswicks shop after Arnie moved. Arnie built the 400 turbo that is between the 427 and the Olds rearend. Lets help this young man convince dad into the greatest father /son project I could ever think of!!!! Cmon! With the power of the H.A.M.B. we can get dad motivated I know!

 

The time has come! Resurrection is warranted, sell it or drive it!! I could put a glossy shine on that paint in one week end.

It's time to make some father and son memories. I would love to work on something like that with my dad and then take it to the dragstrip together and see what it can do!

Great car. Father son projects are great! Leave it just as it is and get the bitch running! The only thing that needs to be changed are those high bucket seats!

A 57 Chevy with a 427?! I thought it was gonna be Fast Freddie's car! (aka: Geoffrey Lewis!) ...dug out from under a high school football field!!

 

Get it running/updated and start racing it. The thing deserves to see the light of day. Fewer and fewer 55-57 drag cars showing up where we race.

 

Put the time with your son and let him run it, thats a kick ass car!

 

Cool story .....it has aged to its prime ............do not paint it........with age comes character..............just resurrect it to the 427 mode and run it with those early et's...........

one of the first cars I worked on was a 55 installed a square port 427 with Doug headers and disc brakes just after we finished it someone stole it never to be found
