Are there any good lookin kustom 55 chevy's outthere? I am building one for a client ,4 dr to 2 dr conversion, we are half way and she is lookin good ( at least I think). let me know how youlike it (or not)
55s were perfect from the factory,I like the 2 door conversion if it looks like a regular 2 door, but thats as far as I would want to alter it. It will be diffrent, but for my taste I would rather have what you started with but thats just me. Heres one (not my cup of tea)but somebody has a blue hardtop on here that isnt bad.
I like the looks of the 2 door conversion but I don't know if I'm feeling the new revised shape of the C-pillar. Did you cut the roof to use a hardtop windshield, or are you planning to cut the glass for the windshield? One-piece bumpers should look nice, nothing wrong with shaved trim, I don't understand what's happening to the gas filler door. Also, what are you going to do for parking lights, with the stock holes shaved? The radiused wheelwells front and back are interesting.
Yes thats what I mean, I will post some pics later this week as the car is now, it will recieve a purple Kandy Pearl flake job later on . keep m comin. Cheers
We made our own C-pillars, the ones in the pic are just for support as we cut the roof , we did a 3"chop and shortened the roof 4", the gas filler door we placed inside the trunk, cut the filler and turn it 180 degrees . I hate those chunky parklights ,they had to go. (maybe some different eyebrows) As for the windshield we have somebody make us a new one, we make the mold , I also did a 56 Buick topchop (Scapers Willems car).I tried to cut the glass on the Buick and it worked till it was 3 days in the car ,I went into the shop and and it was broken.it is expensive but it's worth it. cheers
Here a some new pics we did not do much on the the car due to family problems of the client, but hey we are gatting there...
yes this is the most famous, but we need it to be driveble in Dutch weather.... so too much show for me... cherio T
The car used to be dark green. When it was built,it was a gift for his 18th birthday.Imagine, the kid didn't want it.First saw this car at the first Lead East in '83.
This car was built by a very good friend of mine. The car hails from NY,and the builder, has some of the slickest 55 Chevy customs around. Also, has a pretty cool 56 HT too.
