Looking for some info on exterior chrome window trim. I was checking out 55 Chevys on you tube and some 55 chevys have some chrome trim around the windows. Where can can I buy it and what is it called. Thanks

Bel Air's had the stainless trim around the upper SIDE windows/roof line border, all, except the 55 150 model had stainless trim around the windshield and backlight gl***.Bel Air's and 210 models also had beltline trim on the post models. However, Canadian made 150's also had windshield/backgl*** stainless, and "station wagon like" side trim, while the U.S. made 150's had no side trim. Check out CarNut.Com for what the various models looked like. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Butch, ya type faster than me, dude! The Danchuk catalog also has a good breakdown of the various models. Great stuff to commit to memory.

I have a 210 post. Will that trim work on a 210? Southport NC is on the coast a little north of SC

It will, but you're going to have to drill some holes.

The trim you need runs in the $650 to $750'range. To do the install right you need to pull the
Back lite and all the door gl***. Then the window fuzzies will need to be replaced. While doing that you may as well replace the side gl*** and the door channels along with the vent rubbers. The proper clips use an elongated hole so you will have to make that work. While your at it you can pull the door latches grease them along with the window regulators. Most likely one are more of your window regulators will have a broken spring and may as well fix that also. Forgot when you pull the back lite you will need a new gasket. Just my thoughts.

The beltline trim that goes around the windows is very hard to find. No-one is making it I'm sure and I have been looking for a long time for some.If I didn't already have the holes I would just not run it,but I hate filling them.

Mine is a 1955 210. I changed it to resemble a Bel Aire using Bel Aire side trim, Simulated Bel Aire paint job, added the "A" pillar trim, and separated the belt line with 56 convertible verticle stainless because a wagon does not have the upper dip behind the door.
When I did it I got the stainless from Cl***ic Chevy Int. in Florida. Our 55 Chevy (3).JPG Our 55 Chevy (4).jpg
