I bought the car with a disc conversion already on it. I have no clue what any of the parts are from! Can someone post a link for a conversion? I think I’m going to replace the spindles and calipers. Pics included.
    Thanks

I just got a hold of the previous owner, he said the brakes and spindles are off a 75 t-bird.

The correct spindles are the big deal and it obviously already has them on there. I think, I would post this on the main board and hopefully the HAMB brain trust will be able to verify exactly what you have there. Once they do, clean 'em up, turn the rotors, replace the pads and pack the bearings. Good to go!

This would be a good question for our member Nascar Dave.

If the bolt circle is 4.5 inches my guess would be Ford Granada, I think the Thunderbird in 75 had a larger bolt circle. Definitely Ford with that type of caliper bolt setup.

Yeah, just checked and 75 Thunderbird is 5 inch bolt circle wheel so another clue. Edit just looked at the last picture and it looks like the bleeder is on the bottom? Hard to tell but would never bleed if that is truly on the bottom. Something to look at if you use that setup, caliper could be on the wrong side.

Thanks Jeff, Those disk brakes look like Ford LTD. I have had some experience with them. People complain of steering issues, backing up and stepping on the brakes the wheels would tend to get severe toe in. My recommendation would be not to use them. If you want to lower the car, the Granada's are the best in my opinion. Or use your stock spindles and a bolt on set of brakes and cut one coil off your springs and it will lower it about an inch to one and a half, it will still give you a good ride. There are a lot of guys that like the Arrow Star springs, I am not a fan. Dave

Why not a fan of the Aerostars Dave. I am not using them but wonder why you are not a fan.

After having them for 5 years they have there drawbacks. At times feel to soft and I suppose that’s the compound wound. On a dip they are not fun to me or an elevation change from concrete to blacktop hiway at 60-70 mph. If I knew exactly how much to cut the originals to get the same height I’d do that.
