As you probably know, "Y-blocks" are prone to vapor locking, especially when running an original "teapot" carb. Had a problem with my 55 Merc not starting when hot - put a totally rebuilt four barrel "teapot" on it, and wrapped the fuel line as it runs up a d next to the left valve cover, and now it will start under water. Also put in big battery cables, and a gel battery, and now have no starting or running issues.

Yup, especially with the crossover exhaust tube riding next to the line. My fueling issue has been resolved. Now I'm having problems with the electronic ignition. Not advancing properly. Discovered I've got a pre 57' disi that needs to be trashed and my speed shop ordered the wrong ignition for the new distributor. Hopefully she'll be dialed in this week. But she starts first crank, cold, hot, warm, you name it. Runs like a champ at idle and full throttle. In between under load, not so much.

  3. I got a couple of packs of these cable mounts. The adhesive backing is strong and they take a flathead screw if you want to go that way.

Got the car out and cruised over to the Ventura Nationals for a bit. Disappointed with the amount of small block chevys as usual but oh well. Saw a bunch of cool old fords and some decent people.

Very excited to pick up the keys to my new shop on Saturday. Got the 55' parked inside and ready to tear out the front cross member. Now I need to haul my 56' over and get started on that heap of a project.

That's my 2015' mustang GT performance pack and the race car is my buddy Marks. He owns a local speed shop here in town and we are sharing this little shop for the time being. More than enough room for the two of us. I'm just stoked to finally have a 2 post lift again!
