Hi, I am looking for advice on what manual transmission will work with a 351 cleveland in my 1955 Ford F100 project?

I have never worked on a 55 but, lots of work on the 60's trucks. Depending on how far back you have the engine will kinda determine what transmission you can use without any mods to the ****** hump.
If your going to use it kinda as a truck you could find a 5 speed from a later model truck with a smallblock in it and should be able to use most of the stuff. If its a hot rod. I would use a 5 sd out of a mustang would be better for general driving. Or if you are wanting to build a 60 or 70's you could round up a top loader or t10 or super t10 from lots of cars that had a sbf from that era.
