I've posted pics of my project before, but since '55 Ford g***er threads don't pop up that often, I'll throw a couple more up. It's actually a '56 with '55 front sheet metal. Got married and moved so it's been sitting gathering dust for a year, but I just got back working on it again this week. Ch***is work and running gear (built 312, 5 speed, 9 inch) are pretty well taken care of, so its time to start on wiring and body.

Maybe Ill radius the rear fenders this weekend. . .

Here's a couple I look at for inspiration - several belong to fellow Hambers.

  11. I think I saw this car or one very similar at a recent Carlisle meet. The louvers and stance make the car.

Growing up in Manteca Ca in the late 70's I remember seeing a 55 or 56 Ford Victoria hardtop g***er that used to cruise around Stockton...sometimes we'd see it in Modesto on Mchenry Ave hangin' with a guy in a 55 Chevy Belair g***er...although they both ran fat tires on the front as well. Any of you Ocala guys remember a white 57 Ford Rach wagon with some panel painting on it running around Ocala around 73-74....had a tunnel ram through the hood and ran slots all the way around it, used to walk past it on the way to school...the owner used to hang out with Tim Brogdon and his brother Max back in the day.

Thanks for those pix. That is a Bad *** old Ford. Dig the heavy duty rear end, and the straight pipes right out the fenders!:D

this ford reminds me of my dad's 55 chevy, which is a clone of my uncle's car (my dad's brother) from the late late 50's-60's. it started life as a mild custom........ packard taillights, frenched antenna, nose and decked, shaved door handles, etc. as the g***er era came around, my uncle installed a straight axle. but, retained all of the custom work he did to it a few years prior.

i would guess that happened quite a bit back in the day.

The gray primer '55 g***er w/ the fibergl*** tilt front clip pictured a couple times throughout this post in various stages of progress is mine. Unfortunately, progress has been rather slow but it is still moving forward. Currently the p***enager side floors and rockers are being replaced. Here are a couple more current pictures.
