I dig the concept! The 55-56 Fords have long been a favorite of mine and I like the direction this one is going. The MEL will certainly have people scratching their heads and wondering what it is. I'll be watching this one.

I love 55 Ford g***ers and like how yours is looking. The MEL sound cool.
FWIW however, periods, commas and caps are on a keyboard for a reason, tends to make it easier to read!

I'm also just starting to building a 55 Ford g***er with a 429 & C6. I got a F1 straight axle over the weekend and am now looking at motor mounts. Any ideas on motor mounts would help

yes,a 1971 lincoln and a 460 trans mount as well use stock drive shaft for 53-56 ford buy header kit from crites automotive thunderbolt guy he has every thing also you need a 1970 mustang 429 drag pack waterpump i think national parts depot sells them cheap you have to change your battery box if your gonna run it up front if you are gonna keep fender wells in it use a 56 ford battery tray if you want to put it on the fire wall use a 55 chevy truck they are cheap or a 47-51 ford truck tray if you use the straight axle out of a 51 truck you should also use the steering box and colum out of one also in that paticullar car if you stay with the stock steering box and use a drag link that goes from left to right with that axle set up a 1997 jeep c-j 7 draglink will work ****t this is what you are gonna have problems with with the heavy *** 460 in there with those springs will flex and hit your drag link causing tremendouse bumpsteer will throw you all over the place and maybe cause cadistraphic disaster if you are really going to drive it that is why i found out the hard way that the push and pull is better with the wieght and that is why i went with my new front end use can also use a steering box out of a 1979-84 toyota 4x4 to have power steering with any ford 30 inch steering colom mustang, fairlane, comet all the wires will work with the 55s so turn signals will work look around on this website and someone tell the company that makes it another questions abought this let me know

    588 MEL? WOW!

So how did you get a 430 that big?

I know that Reath, HTC and CT Automotive used to sell 486 inch kits for 430's, but that is about as big as I have ever seen or heard of.

  22. Use to be a guy out in the LA are named Dave Zuchel that ran a 55 Ford at the Drags. KILLER car. Last I heard he was doing P-51 Airplane engines for Air Racers. Oh, and buy the way....how about adding a period to you sentences now and then. Makes for easier reading

if anyones building a ford g***er with a small block 302,289.ect let me know i want to get rid of my fenderwell headers i made. they are from ****** super comp fenderwell for mopar 440 for a 70 dart and a set of ****** sbf headers they went together pretty good they sound badd ***. and are 2 inch in diameter. would like to trade for some big block chevy 55 fenderwells. prefer 2inch or bigger or ill sell them for what ever speedway wants for a set of their plain steel ones. no powder coated stuff unless they are white. they dont make anything like these for a small block ford on the market and i have abought 600 bucks plus alot of hours in them so someone will get a heck of a deal. thanks
