Holy Hell that is fucking awsome looking. I really love the roof color, sets it apart from the other 55 gassers.

That machine looks awesome. I really like everything about it.

    ....however....

There is one thing that I noticed that you might want to worry about.
If that bent rod under the frontend is your draglink, you'll have some problems with that.

I originally set my car up with a bent draglink. It flexed like crazy. The car was a real handful keeping it between the lines. It would steer on its own. I eventually welded a brace to the bent draglink...which helped, but did not eliminate the flex.

My final solution was to make my own 3rd steering arm and bolt it to the top of the spindle so that I could run a straight draglink from the box to the top of the passenger side wheel. Problem solved.

    Just a word of caution.

To even be thought of as a grand poohbah high floater of the South Omaha Turds is truly an honor! Thanks Gary

I know there will be issue's to address. This is my first shot at a Gasser and my first priority was to get it runnin and see where the weak links are. Thanks for the input. Gary

    I can understand that!
Thats how I get things done too.....

If you overthink, you never get anywhere.

Sometimes you got to just get it done and fix the problems later.

I do love the look of that thing. Its really bitchen. :)

Thats pretty god damned cool! From the inside out, nice job...I cant wait to see its progression from a project to a "ride". What sorta times you rekon she'll pull?

  20. Was it common not to have cages in "gassers" or is this one more for looks, rather than race?

judging by the aluminum heads, this car will have plenty of GO! to match it's show. Nice to see a gasser that can walk the walk

On paper it looks to have bout 500-525 HP. Pushing it through a Richmond 4 speed and a 9" with 350 gears. Should be fast enough for me. We'll see how Hot Rod Rubber's tires do, might have to put on something with a little more bite to get a serious E.T. but should do a great burn-out. Gary

  30. You have built for the most part my next hot rod. The next keeper I want to build is a 55 Chevy gasser style.
