I'm in the process of gathering parts to swap a 392 Hemi into my '55 plymouth, replacing the flat 6. I'm not wild about the steering/suspension setup on the car. I'm thinking of subframing the front of the car, but I don't want a standard Nova/Camero subframe. Awhile ago, I got a good look at a '55 DeSoto front clip. The steering especially is much more to my liking, and it's already setup for a Hemi. Could I just whack off my Plymouth frame and weld on the a DeSoto one? How similar are the frames? Would the steering be a direct swap? Thanks for the info. Have a nice day.

I'm not sure, but I think it was the Plymouths/Dodges that shared a platform, then Desoto/Chrysler were on another. Check out www.forwardlook.net, I bet one of the guys there knows (although it's not a very busy forum)

Fatman Fab in NC makes a frame stub for the '55 Plymouth. That I what I plan on using in my Belvedere when I pick it up.
