Does anyone know what the original front end hub to hub width on a 55 pontiac chieftan is?

IIRC? Ok heres the deal, My stock rear end is 60 5/16 and if the front is around 60" as well. I ordered a fat man stub for it, and it comes 58 1/4 wide hub to hub, I have a rear end I want to use that is 59 3/4 ( ford 8.8 ) is it going to be a big deal for the rear to be 1 1/2 wider? Do I have to use rear wheels with different back spacing? I guess I'm thinking the front and rear tires should measure the same outside to outside. Am I off base for thinking this?

It would be ok to use a little wider track in the rear. Watch your backspacing in the rear, too much and it will get into the leaf spring, get the rear end bolted in than measure clearance.

    IIRC- If I Remember Correctly.
