56 Chevy Front Suspension

    I had a 55 Nomad back in the day with 365 inches of Cad in it. Even with the added
    weight their wasn't a problem.

    I think the suspension is fine,in stock condition,but I personally had both upper control arms fracture where the upper ball joints bolt to the arms. The 56 sedan delivery was a national record holding JR stocker for several years,but I put it back on the street. The car had spacers between the ball joints and the upper arm,and both arms cracked at the bolt holes. I got 2 used arms and cut reinforcing plates to fit where the bolts go through the arms.I sold the car about 30 years ago and it hasnt been driven since.:)

    I've had my 56 for 25 years and drove it through high school, beating the **** out of it (Dukes of hazard style). Never a problem with the A-arms.
