I want it to! I'd really like to know the suspension set up Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm on my TENTH 56 Chevrolet, so I guess I like them too! I never went for ANYTHING too radical; minor custom changes done to improve a "look" is fine with me; extremes are just a turn off no matter what the style. JMO. The yellow and white Bel Air Hardtop is a good example of minor custom changes. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
I like all Tri-Fives... It is hard for me to believe that the 56 was considered by many to be the "Odd" Man out of the three. My 56.
I have loved 56 Chevys ever since I was a little kid and my uncles 56 Chevy power pack blew the doors off my cousins 56 312 Fairlane!
it is featured in the december 2013 issue of car culture deluxe magazine #61. gary hardin named as the owner from Lakewood Ca. Al.
Wish it were mine; it would make it 56 Chevrolet number 11! It looks like it could be a Utility Sedan by the rear quarter windows, but it's hard to tell for sure? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
The next time you see one, in person, step back about 20' and REALLY look at the styling involved. It was the BEST of the "Tri-5's".
It's owner is a Los Angeles or Orange County Ca. resident. Gary is his name if I recall correctly. I have not seen him for nearly a year. If anyone here know's the Mercifuls Car Club here in So. Ca. they can direct you better.
When I first fell in love with the "56" and as a bonus, it was a freakin' Nomad! Jeez... I'm old, but have a great memory.
The quarter windows will not roll down if it is a utility sedan, the windows were held in with rubber.
A Utility Sedan, AKA Business Coupe, would not have a rear seat. There would instead be a platform. The rear side windows (quarter windows) also did not roll down, and were in permanent position with a gasket/seal, and a small bracket installed under the trim. That's why I said it was hard to tell. Being a 150 Model, it could also have a rear seat and roll down windows. The code will be on the underhood plaque telling you how the car came equipped. My first Bracket Car was a 56 Utility Sedan, painted white with red acrylite side windows, a tilt steel front end, a 375 HP 396, aluminum Powerglide with a Vega torque converter, and a 68 Camaro 12 bolt rear end with 5.38 gears on a Moroso Brute Strength "Positraction". I actually owned that car on two separate occasions, first as a street car I later sold to a friend, then later on I bought it back, and put it on the track after a complete rebuild. After I sold it to run a FED, it was sold to 3 more guys. The last guy turned it into an 8 second Pro Street/Bracket Car, and had it up for sale....at a mere 56 thousand dollars!
