Mr friend John brought out his freshly finished mild custom 56 Continental Coupe.First run today.Having beers and margaritas while we look at the finished item across in the car park. Built from a very nice 2 owner car imported from Texas,John has done all the custom work including new grille, frenched 52 Ford headlights, shaved, remote door poppers, special one off alloy wheels designed to replicate the original hubcaps. John also repainted the car in white with candy apple roof all done in the shed at home. Official presentation at Yamba Run in 2 weeks time Paul
I'm headed down under in Dec for christmas, Looking forward to it if there are sweat rides like this everywhere.
I'm thinking... Yeah, those Yanks have all the cool cars. Then I read YAMBA! Go Aussie! VERY cool ride you friend has there.
That is a great example of how to customize a '56 Continental. Yes, less IS more. I near wet my pants when I saw it was here in Australia........ Looks like we'll have to get to Yamba this year.
I think this is a case of "I'm Rare" being well done.Nice work, neat style and even the colour looks right.Hey,Paul, put on some shots of the Hudson and show 'em what else we can do over here.regards.Neville.keep on roddin'
Beautiful car. One of my favorite FOMOCO body styles. Go easy on the "beers and margaritas". be a shame to bend it on the way home. GV
WOW.............. Excuse me,please..... I'll be in the men's room for the next ten/fifteen minutes.... (where's my hand lotion )
Damn...that's nice, really nice job. Didn't come from Austin did it? saw one like that for sale here in town about a year ago...
I know this is a two year old thread...but WOW!!! There is one of these sitting in a garage by my house. I keep begging the lady to get it out and let us get back on the road for her but she won't do it.
That is a subtle custom. Anyone who didn't have a fair familiarity with the 2nd series Continentals would surely think it is a full tilt restoration of a pristine stocker. Great job, a classic design in any century.
