56 F-250 steering box?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jalopy Kid, Nov 9, 2009.

  1. I'm trying to find out if a steering box from a 56 F-250 would be the same as one from an F-100 or is it bigger?
I did a search and couldn't find anything
    Thanks

  2. Somebody here has to know?

Not sure about '56 as I only have the picture section of the Ford parts book for that year, but for '53-'55 the F100 and F250 appeared to have the same steering box, column, etc.

I'm using a '56 (F100?) ***embly in my '55 as it has the shorter column and dished wheel, but other wise I believe is identical.

Not sure if that has been any help, or just added to the confusion?!

56 F-250 is EXACTLY the same as F-100, don't let anyone tell youi otherwise! They did not change until the heavy F-350, light F-350's were also the same.

  6. Cool, one of my customers is building a 34 ford and has a 56 F-250 with a tight steering box that he wants to use. He will be happy to now that it will work!
