So, I have moved to the front axle now and I am a little worried about the safety of using the spindles I have. On both sides there was no cotter pin in the axle nut and they were both so loose I just spun them off by hand. I don't know if they are supposed to be tight, but I do know they are supposed to have the pin in them. Driver's side looks okay, but seems to been exposed to a good bit of heat at some point in time.

The passenger side however has alot of wear on the threads. It looks like axle nut was either overtightened one time, basically stripping the threads or it worked loose and the bearing rode on the threads wearing them down. Either way I think it will need to be replaced.

Does anyone know of a place that may carry a new spindle? I can't find anything listed so I figure this may be a salvage yard or swap meet item.
