I am looking to install the windshield on my Fairlane. It has the stainless trim that screws into the body on each end. . Do I install the Stainless into the gl*** first, and hope i get it right, or do I tap it in after install? I have read both methods, but would like to know how you guys with 55-6 Fords have done it.
Upper or lower trim? Look at the lower trim, does it have a big lip on it? Those are inserted into the gasket along with the gl***, then it goes in. There may be 2 types of gaskets, one with no trim and one with.
If I remember right you put the trim in the gasket, install windshield then screw it down. At least that is what my manual said to do for my 57 wagon. Mike
That's the ultimate conclusion I came to as well. I have the trim installed and am waiting for help to stick it in and get this sealed up for winter
