Well I have been here for a long time and never posted any of my builds or anything, just buying ,selling and trading. So i think its about time I show you guys what I have been working with. I bought this 56 mainline back in high school. Never had money to do it right so it was always half ***ed, Im sure im not the only one that has done it Well its been down for quite a few years now due to me wanting to go all out on it. The plans are to have this thing laying frame and some clean paint. I think im going more for 60s custom but kind of alittle lowrider aswell minus the wires. I bought the correct exterior visor and continental kit. I also have a swamp cooler and safety star but not sure if im running those two. I have flush mount skirts and cruiser skirts both are steel. Well Here are some pics.

This was right after high school when I cut a few cils in the front and took a few leafs out of the rear and flipped the schackles.

Thanks shame devil. The body is off the frame now, I am c notching the rear and setting it up for air ride then powder coat everything. Unless I can paint it and have it last. Powder coating is pretty pricey.

Nothing beats a old custom ford and the Y block makes it better yet. Nice ride

i think he was saying that he redoes his club sedan every 5 years, whether it needs it or not. and, that he has owned it for over 50 years.

i had to look at it for a bit too before i figured it out.

My girlfriends 55 had the 312 in it before she did the 302/c4 swap a few years back(before we were dating). She enjoy's the ride, but after seeing a few set up's of tri power on a Y block. She wishes she still had it.

Yeah I love y blocks, I dont think i could swap this motor out. Im running another y block in my 27 tudor with a 6x2 manifold. I was going to run y blocks in my other 27 5 window and 30 es*** coupe. I changed my mind on those two. I will be running a 390 with 6x2 in the 27 coupe and something els in the s***, not sure what yet.

Im still trying to figure out what skirts to run. They both look good. Anyway, has anyone here bagged a 55-56 fairlane? Any tips? I know this car doesnt need much of a notch, the rear of the frame kicks up alot.

  17. That looks great man I wish you the best of luck on your build. That is awesome that you managed to keep your high school car.
