pitting isnt a problem. they fix that and holes all the time and then after its plated you cant see it . if you wind up with one thats been replated it has probably been fixed already.

Please don't take this the wrong way but if you are getting it re chromed , let the place you are taking it to re chromed fix it ! They would much rather do it ! But if you are only getting one side re chromed , I really don't think that would look good with one side re chromed and the other side wasn't .
    Just my opinion .

Well Vicky, it's up to you as to what to get and how much to spend. I thought I'd save by getting a used set off ebay but wasn't too pleased with them and ended up getting a set of rechromes.

I have yet to see a good set of used ones for sale unless you're looking for driver quality. Most are scratched, rusty, dented and/or the plating is worn and thin.

If you have or can get a good solid used one and rhave it rechromed, that's probably your best bet.

Vicky , with one already re chromed you will be doing good to just let them fix and re chrome the other side . That will look so nice on a sunny day shinning off like that .

I have a 55 and thought about a kustom tube grill but when I say the prices I figured I will stick with my stock grill .
Does anyone know the difference between the to different grills that were 55 & 56 . Mostly wondering if the 56 would fit into the 55 opening . I know the turn signals are also different .

Vicky who is doing your chrome work ? I am also looking for a good one by word of mouth which is the bast way to find out who does the good work and who isn't the best !
