Technical 56 Mercury Monterey 302 Swap

Good evening.I have a 56 Merc, I'm putting a 302 in it and I have have a front sump oil pan..I notched the driver side pad top to bottom and the pan is hitting the crossmember slightly from keeping it from sitting on the mounts..DO YOU HAVE TO KNOTCH THE CROSSMEMBER A LITTLE??THANKS
