I'm going to rebuild this tranamission for a friend. The car is a 56 olds 88. It does have a park position on the selector. I want to make sure what trans this is before ordering parts. Also would like to find a O/H manual.
I've rebuilt alot of automatics but none this old. Here is some pics.
I think it is a jetaway??
    Thanks,
    Mark

Edit cant get pics to load. I'll keep trying.

If it has a "side" pan and a regular bottom pan then you have the early Hydro. If you only have a bottom pan then you have a Jetaway. I've got some spare parts for the Jetaway version so if you need any hard parts, just pm me and I'll check my stash:eek:. al

It just has bottom pan. Main case is cast iron. This was a working unit. It's been sitting for a very long time. Thanks for the help. If I get inside and find I need hard parts, I'll pm.

    Thanks,

Thats a jetaway. I had mine rebuilt several years ago and sourced all the parts from Fatsco ( I think thats the spelling). They were excellent to deal with and very helpful.
    Good luck.
