I think my radiator might be on it's way out. Just checking to see if anybody knew who made a good replacement . I would like to keep it stock looking and not spend an arm and a leg. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
As you know most newer cars have gone to aluminum radiators for better cooling, the 1967-70 Mustang radiators are almost a bolt-in in 1949-56 Ford cars this is an option: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-1968-1...Parts_Accessories&hash=item337da8c0db&vxp=mtr Paint the top tank and mounting brackets with black engine enamel to give it that stock look.
Mine went from just weeping to fully leaking.I had it recored for $350. They said it cost so much because of the price of copper. Pricey but it fit back in perfectly.
I just ordered a new aluminum one from Auto City Cl***ics for $250. I also ordered Eastwood radiator black paint because its not painted. It's supposed to be a direct bolt in. http://www.autocitycl***ic.com/inde...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=65
I got an Auto City Cl***ics aluminum radiator in my '56 at a total cost of $238 and found it to be a perfect fit. Be forewarned that an aluminum radiator must be handled with patience and precision when installing. The fins are much easier to deform than those on a stock radiator.
I have a radiator from a mid-'60s Fairlane or Mustang in mine - after 30+ years (and stupidly selling an original one 14 years ago from my parts stash) I want to put an original-type one back in because I don't think the '60s-style unit looks right. And of course I got rid of the steel rod cross-brace that holds the fender panels together, so I've got to get one or fab one of these, too.
