I am changing out the vacuum wiper motor for an electric upgrade. The kit came with a switch and extension that will let me reuse the original knob and bezel but I cannot figure out how to remove the original switch. Any suggestions?

From memory the wiper switch is held on by the chrome nut with cross slot that the switch handle protrudes through. To undo it use a pair of long nose pliers, located over the protruding shaft with the points in the cross slot and rotate the nut anticlockwise . You may need to grind the points of the pliers to fit in the slot. A pair of right angled jaw circlip pliers will also work.

4t6ford has the drill down pat. You can get the tools on eBay, too. Not very expensive compared with the cost of a new bezel if you screw that one up using the wrong tool...

Carpenters does not carry the tool, but Tee Bird Products has them. Part # 17470T $6.50. Thanks all.

  7. apologies 56frln , could have sworn mine came from carpenters . You wont regret having one in your tool box though, $6.50 well spent :)
