heavy first generation steel, 6 lug drums, no brakes, 4" travel. imo 750 is a workable limit after the overhaul
Looks alot like my trailer. Mine is a 1946 Murce trailer, it has a data plate on the side, it is registered in CA as such. You would think mine was made from something, but it was purpose built by company, has a serial number, the whole deal. It is a chevy six lug pattern with a solid axle with leaf springs. We just load it till the springs flip and the axle sits on the frame. I have hauled as much as two yards of sand in it, and a yard and half of road base a number of times... that is quite a bit of weight. Will they let you take it out for a tow? I would take it for a spin to see how well it pulls. Mine pulls so well, you tend to forget it's back there. I wouldn't give up my little trailer for anything, I get offers on it all the time. Cheers RustyNCA
registering a trailer in ca is easy, i`ve only built abotu 25, enough that i had to start using friends and family cause they wanted me to get a dealer liscense, go to the dmv, tell them you built a trailer using some s**** material you have, they will ask a value and things like that, then you go get it weighed and pay your bucks and done, very easy, tell em you built it from very cheap s****, save yourself some money on taxes.....
Well, you are right, I had the name wrong... It's a Murcell. Built April 1946 per the data plate, apparently the 213th one they made. The front drops down, has a telescoping front hitch, has a Chevy 6 bolt wheel pattern. Cool shape to the fenders. It's a great little trailer. My dad bought it in the late 60s if I remember right, it has been around ever since I can remember.
