Has anyone ever has found "magical" bearings to make 57-60 front hubs work in Lieu of 53-56 Hubs
or... machined them to "accept" 53-56 bearings? to run on 37-48 spindles.
I have the speedway bearing kit. 57-60 are smaller.

    I got 53-56 backing plates and 57-60 drums/hubs putting, on a 47 Ford

    Thanks Rick

I would take the old /new bearings , hub, etc. down to my local bearing house (Purvis Bearing in El Paso) see if they can find the bearing to make it work.

  6. since you have a caliper and all the parts there , how much bigger are the OD of the races from the speedway kit vs the id of the stock 57-60 hub? it doesn't look to me that there would be enough metal to bore out the 57-60 hubs

get a copy of a timken bearing catalog and see if there are bearings you can make work

  7. you might be better off just finding some `53-`56 hubs , i see them for sale in the classifieds sometimes

Yeah it sucks to because they're such beautiful drums!
