    That's awesome!

I wonder if you have any connection to them?

This is a 60 with a 59 nose and is on a 79 chassis that is local to me.

Finally got some interior in my 1958 F100 panel. Nothing too fancy, just a little of the retro tuck and roll look.

Are you running a 88-98 Chev truck front seat?

Thanks guys. Yes it is a gm. It is a split seat that I reversed the location putting the larger seat on the driver's side. BUT, these are a nightmare to recover. Not sure I would do it again.

I am just getting started on this ol girl. 58, just finished the c notch kit and spring over in the rear. I am now trying to figure out the front. The previous owner heated the front spring and they are now resting on the bump stops. I dont want to be to low in the front.. I am thinking drop axle, new kingpins, new tie rod ends,, but what do I do about springs? I am 60-66 Chev C-10 guy.. This F100 stuff is all new..

This truck is bosting a 351c/c4 and few other goodies.. Stand by for more.. Any front suspension help would be awesome.

  19. Looks like a good, clean truck. What are the plans? and yeah dropped axle, or IFS clip would do it.

We just did a c notch rear axle flip and some other work in the back. My plan is to roll it like it is for the most part. I am totally unsure on what to do or buy for the front. I want to keep it a straight axle. I dont know what parts to buy. I know I need a drop axle, kingpins, tie rod ends, shackles, and springs.. But what springs???? Mono, or a pack? I see the stuff from CPP but its spendy. Shit I only paid $1000 for this baby and it purs like a kitten. I am going to leave it drum on all four corners. This not my daily driver only a play toy on the weekends. So, if someone who is kind enough, I need an exact list of what front end parts to buy, where to buy and maybe enen part numers. I dont want to slam the front. I want it to be a little higher then the rear. I want a tail dragger. Any info would be awesome. You guys rock, thanks for all the info!!!!!

Mine was just done. A drop axle from Sids. www.droppedaxles.com. Tie rod drops from speedway or other vendor. Remove 1 small leaf from the front pack and have the eyes reversed (any spring shop should be able to do this). Relocate the front shock upper mounts up 3 inches (allows you to use stock shocks) Otherwise you will have to buy some spendy shorties. Steering arm bent parallel to the frame. If you look at 57- 60 F100 social group section you will see how mine was lowered.

I like what you did. The problem is that my front leaf springs are junk. The tard before me heated them up and bent them the wrong way. I could have them rebuilt but I am thinking it might be easier to just buy new ones. I have been thinking of doing just a mono leaf from progressive online, new shocks and seeing if that gives me a few inches. I dont want it slammed in the front. I want it a little nose high. I see the progressive online has a 3" or a 4.5" mono spring drop. I am wondering if the spring and some new shocks would get the ride and drop I want to do.

Did you have to heat up your pitman arm and bend it down?

I have monoleafs with reversed eyes on my 58. I flipped the axle over the springs like you did in the rear. The truck has a bit of a tail dragger stance. ( I have yet to install my Sids 2.5 drop axle) The one thing I plan on doing as well is flipping the rear shackle like Hotrod1959 had done on his truck. I think this should give me some additional clearance on the rear-end and the bed floor. If you look in my albums you can see the current stance on my truck. Its a shortbed though now:D

I was just reading some other thread posts by you. I was gonna pm you and ask you where you got your springs. If you see my pics I only want to be about 2 inches lower then the picture is. I am thinking that I might just do some new mono leafs but unsure where to get them. Oregon Spring here in Portland is pretty awesome and cheap. I might just take my shitty bent ones off and take them down there and see what they can do to build me some new ones or design a mono leaf. I know a buddy of mine just had a 2 inch drop leaf pack made from them and it was only $160 for new spring packs.. Decent price compared to what I am seeing on line.

Mono leafs are over $400 unless you can find a good used set. Cost effective to get a junkyard set and have them modified. Mine cost $175 to modify with new eye bushings. There is a guy in Central Point OR (541 665 8340) who parts out lots of these trucks or Olds53 is putting a volare clip on his. You might want to ask him if he wants to sell his old set of springs. Steering arm was heated to bend and let cool down on its own. Do not put it in water to cool it rapidly.

I got my mono-leafs from CPP online. If I ever lower another one of theses I'll be doing it the same way Hotrod1959 and Cjmac have done their trucks. I willing to bet they ride a bit nicer than mine. Not that the rides horrible ...but I'm sure there is a difference

  29. Here is a local 59 bus
