I'm getting the buick ready for the wedding and I ran into a snag...

on the rear doors there are two pieces of trim, the forward piece is an easy install with 4 push clips, one threaded rod clip and a panhead phillps into one of those sheet metal pieces with a little tension rod.

    Heres the pieces and locations:

Now as you can see, the holes for this piece are off center relative to the trim and their "type" of hole makes me believe there is the sheet metal piece with the panhead phillips from the inside of the car. Also, there is no clearance on the backside for a threaded rod and a nut. Other than trying to make a custom piece and have it be lined up perfect, does anyone have pictures of what they did or any ideas?

    thanks for your guys, help.

Heres a picture of the rear just for kicks so far..

I think you're trying to make a big deal out of a small one...I'd go find some more of those clips (with the philips head screw) like you're showing in your first pic...slip them into the trim and do some measuring...drill some new holes...

Unless, you're a purist and must have it exactly as the factory did...those smaller holes may have held plastic clips and are long gone now.
