This is awesome work. There is an absolutely rotted to death '57 Bel Air convertible for sale that I know of near me and seeing this makes that soooooo tempting. Keep us posted with the great progress
I am lovin just watching you do this. Can't imagine how much fun you are having actually being the guy doing it.
A ton of work and it all looks good. Not knocking your approach but were I doing it to my 7, I would have stripped and painted the inner 1/4s as long as they were exposed as they were. the blasted areas will sweat and rust and may even migrate around the trim holes. But I applaud your effort after your Brother dropped the ball. Ralphie
Thanks, everything that was blasted has already been shot with Shopline epoxy primer. The inside of the outer quarters still have much of the original undercoat. In the spots I had to strip for welding, the metal underneath was rust free. I'm actually considering replacing the outer quarter panels too. It just never seems to end.
Hi I know it's been a while but I am planning on doing my inner as well. What can you tell me to except and help out.
As a retired body man doing collision , antique restoration , and Kustomizing , I would never cut off a good 1/4 outer panel ! Replacing the inner panel is no great problem for a qualified body repair man ! Sonny
