A few weeks ago a buddy called and asked if I knew anyone who needed parts for an old Desoto . He said a old salvage yard was crushing (mostly 80s junk) and they were getting ready to crush it but they would sell it so we struck a deal and I finally got there to get it yesterday. Boy is it rough but the HEMI is still in her and surely someone will need something else. It makes me shivver to think of all the good iron that has fallen to the s**** iron business. Does anyone else have any crusher stories?

How did I know that Gotgas would get to this one before I did.

I too would like to see pics and hear how rough it is. Even if the car is junk, I might be interested in the front and rear bumpers, and any taillights that are left on it.

    What model is it?

It's got a 4bbl Hemi, meaning it's probably a Fireflite. From the PMs, it's a 2dr HT. And FYI, I got first dibs on it! :D  :D

I'm all over it like a fly on sh...

    Literally. :D

One good thing about whining about what you're looking for, is when it comes up, people remember. This guy PM'd me a couple of days ago. He knows of another one too hahahaaa

He said this car here is pretty far gone.

Sorry guys I tried to post the pics with this post but I guess I'm too dumb. I'll see if I can get a third grader to do it for me.

Thanks for saving it. I'm not a Desoto guy but you just grabbed some history or Americana from total destruction. That car has alot of useable parts still left on it. You are a hero!!

That is SO fixable. Honestly, to me it doesn't look that bad.

So, is Gotgas on his way to pick it up yet?

Gotgas, if you do get it and decide to restore it, there's a '57 New Yorker up by me in a junkyard, let me know if you need any parts off of it.

    Ancient thread resurrection in progress!

I got it, about seven years ago! That poor car was just a little bit rough. ;)

Clif, aka Firedome, ended up with this one. Last I heard, he is using it to restore his convertible. I just remembered this old thread and wanted to post some pictures of the car.
