How many pieces are there to the F-100 grill?

I am looking for the "brows" over the headlights if they are separate from the rest of the geill. Haven't pulled anything apart just yet, still looking/learning a few things on these rigs. I do know that parts can be pretty slim since such a short window of production and very few manufacturers are making aftermarket stuff for these models.

Mine are pretty beat up. Hopefully I can find a set and dont have to resort to a ton of metal work to make these look good again.

  3. 57 is one year only so grill pieces are hard to come by along with front fenders and hood. I don't know of anyone who is reproducing these parts so finding orginals are probley the only way. Those head light rings look pretty good and could be fixed.

Are the brows over the headlight a separate piece from the rest of the grill?

  5. Yes I believe so. Once you get it appart you should be able to use a shot bag, hammer and dollies to straighten them.

Guess it's time to practice some body work skills.

Heat will be your friend. Get the area of concern a dull red then get in there with screw drivers or a flat piece of metal and push. Get them as close as you can with this method and then finish with a skim of filler. Do not get them too hot so that a screwdriver will push through, but a dull red should work enough to soften the metal and let you work it back into place.

  8. If you decide to go whole-hog and chrome them, you can use brazing as filler after straightening and then file/sand them to final shape. These grills look their best when chromed IMO...

I know someone that probably has some. But they are not cheap. Let me know if you want his information. They come up on ebay once in a while.

  10. I’d straighten those

Just put those in the attic and make a tube grille with some ‘58 Lincoln canted quads. Simple.
