I have a1957 medium duty f100 and im trying to figure out should i swap,hop or just drive it with the factory4 on th floor? is there any speed parts for this old ****** with the granny gear?
Thats what I have in mine and I dont know of any thing to do with it besides use it like it is.Not high performance by any means.Helped out the few times I've had to tow buddies broken down rides.Good Luck.When I can afford it Im gonna get the T5 adapter and go that route.
What are you trying to do with the truck, and what don't you like about it the most? There might be some stuff you can do... if you don't like the truck's top speed, you can either swap to a T5 and get overdrive... or if you don't like how low the first gear is either, maybe go to a higher rear gear than what you have. Aside from that... there really isn't much you can do to that trans. They're pretty beefy and do what they were designed to do very well though. Gotta give 'em credit for that. If it was me personally, i'd just leave it alone unless I wanted to go racing with it.
