1952-59 Ford 57 floor/front brace height

OK, I am slowly finishing the p*** side tow board-skills are slowly getting better-very slowly. BUT, my question is this: both sides (dr/p***) the tunnel is sitting below the front brace. So if (and this happened on the dr. side) I go to install the floor pan it will actually sit about an 1/4 inch above the toe board. So, did the body collapse in the center on me? I was thinking that if I raise the body on the p*** side just a bit it might realign things. Or do I have to cut and reposition the brace?
