I recently picked up a '57 Ford Custom 300 2 dr. I have a 351 Windsor and an AOD from an 84 Mercury. Was wondering what a swap like this would take. I would also like to lower the car and upgrade the front brakes to discs. I intend to use 15x7 steel wheels with spiders and whitewalls. Many years ago, I swapped '69 Mercury Disc brakes (with spindles) into my 57 Meteor Ranchero. I was hoping for a similar swap with something a bit newer. Will Granada spindles work on the 57? Any suggestions? Rick

That drivetrain swaps in easily, I have a 302/AOD in my 57 Ranch Wagon. 57FordInternational.com(I think) has links to tech sites that show the Granada disc brake swap. I have those too, they work well. Headers from a 70 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland bolted right into my 57 Custom, I'd assume that headers for a 69 Mustang with a 351 Windsor or 302 would do the same, but haven't tried it yet. Hope this helps.

Yes the Granada spindles and brakes will work. The tapered hole for the lower ball joint stud needs to be enlarged for the 57 LBJ. I sent my spindles to Fat mans to have them done.
