I know I'll never finish it, so it's time to let it go. Only 1292 made, not sure how many survive. The chassis is completely rebuilt front and rear with the exception of the rear brakes and front shocks and sprayed with Por15. 1976 400 and 400 turbo mounted but not running. Pulled it from a Catalina I drove for a month. Runs good, shifts good. Offy intake, Edelbrock carb. Firewall mounted power brake m/c and booster, plumbed brake lines, Scarebird front disc brakes. Gas tank boiled out and remounted. Needs all glass(it's there, but cracked or broken) and all rubber. All Pontiac and Safari specific trim and moldings are there and restorable. Newport Engineering wiper kit. Has some floor pan rust on front driver side and in the rear beside the rear seat cushion mounts on both sides. I have both sides front replacements. Tailgate is rusted on bottom and will need work. Rockers and quarters are good. NOS retractor cables for tailgate. Extra rear bumper, extra chrome air intake grille below windshield, extra speaker pod on driveline hump. Not a fire sale, not desperate, but I've got 2 other projects going now, so I'd like to move it to someone who will finish it. Might trade for finished nice '56 big window Ford pu + some cash your way. 20k Pretty firm on the price. Will help with loading, but shipping is on you, and money will be in my hand before car leaves. Calls only 208-880-3238 ask for Joe. Leave a message if no answer.
Someone needs to bring this car back to life. More '55 Nomads were made than the entire run of Safaris'. All the glass and rubber is the same as a Nomad and readily available.
Clean, clear title in my name in hand.... I won't give it away, but I'll consider a reasonable offer or interesting trade worth approximately the same. You'll have the only one at the cruise night. I can send additional pics if desired.
Back up, $17,000. Would rather sell, but might consider a trade. Whatcha got? No projects please, I'm already full.
This car needs to live again. I just don't have another project in me. I need to finish the 2 I've got going now. Cash talks. Trades?
You will most likely have the only one at the cruise night. And if you actually like to drive to car shows, (or rod runs as they used to be called,) you could sleep in it.
Safari lovers, here's your chance for a genuine, all there start to your dream. Don't let it get away. Have had offers, but not enough $. It will take more than a little money and determination to see this project through, but when it's there it will be gorgeous, and 1 of 1292 built. Believe me, if I had the means to finish it I would.
