My coupe I just picked up have a 350/350 and a stock rear end. I think the rear is ready to go, I know for sure its leaking. I was told a 57 Ranchero Rear end fits perfect and doesnt rub on either side like some other do??? Is this correct?

A 57 Ranchero rear end is 58 inches wide ... measured this way

    I installed a 58 Ranchero ( same as a 57 ) rear under a 1951 Ford with no issues ... but It need not have but a 6 inch wide ... 15 inch rim with F78/15 tires.

You might try a 60s Mustang rear also

I know a guy who installed a V8 Maverick rear end under his 49 Ford. The V8 Maverick 5 lug wheel pattern rear end is almost 2 inches more narrow than the 57 Ranchero rear end ( 1 inch per side ) . His coupe sits pretty low and has fender skirts ... with NO RUBBING

So I would guess a V8 Maverick might be a better choice.

But, I always run the 9 inch Ford under my projects ... ALWAYS :D

The V8 Maverick rear is a 8 inch Ford rear end ... and it does not have as much of a gear ratio selection as the 9 inch Ford ... but the 2.79, 3.00 an 3.40 ratios are pretty common.
