I bet those seats feel SUBSTANTIALLY better than the oem version.
The only thing I would change is to remove the My Low Don oil pan.

Man that’s nice. The link wouldn’t open to bat for me for some reason.

  12. Nice car!

If I had the money, I would love to build a stock 57 sedan delivery with Fuel Injected 283 and a Hydro, just to make people starch their heads and wonder if any really did leave the assembly line that way.

My dad had one like this except for being the factory green. It was just a 235 but we put a T-10 behind it and I did a few tweaks on the engine in my high school "Ag Power" class in the late 60s. What a fun car. I found out too that the track width was perfect for the local train tracks here in the NW. No tressel crossings for me (except on my motorcycle) but you could go hands free when on the tracks that were set into the asphalt. Some guys would drop their tire pressure to somewhere around 10 PSI and that made train track running easier.

I'm seeing Cal Tracs or something similar. 6 cyl script on the hood and original style seat upholstery on those buckets. Really nice, even the non 57 crowd would probably drive it!

    Hello,

The most likeable thing about the 57 Chevy Sedan Delivery is the interior. A little snazzy for us, but that could easily be fixed with all black coverings. But, the 4 speed stick shift lever just makes the interior stand out like no other… As a teenager, my friend and I installed a 4 speed stick shift transmission in his 57 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop. So, now, it had a cam/lifters, ported/polished heads, Hedman Headers, dual quads, along with my old 4:11 Positraction rear gears. It was fast and seemed faster with the 4 speed.

Now, it was fast and had the only 57 Chevy in So Cal with a 4 speed transmission. He learned to shift as smooth as an automatic transmission by doing the “speed shift” moves each time. But, in my weekend driving the 57, something was outstanding about the curved lever and the ability to shift with it.

In the case of this sedan delivery, all that is missing is A/C. The sedan delivery does not have the best air circulation and needs an A/C unit to replace lack of real side opening windows. But, that interior with the curved stick shift lever… just makes it right.

Since the two door wagons also had no opening rear windows, it too would require an A/C system.

The one thing that will bother most drivers is this blocked view on the passenger’s side of the sedan delivery. There is a large blank wall taking up the view one normally sees out of the windows on that side of any sedan. The view and surrounding atmosphere, gone, replaced by a solid steel wall. Delivery service at your door step, as the merchandise is well hidden from public view. But, the right rear view is also hidden from the driver outward, too. YRMV

    Note:

A few months ago, there was a great looking 56 Chevy Sedan Delivery posted in the HAMB classifieds. It had the look of a clean mild custom and had one thing going for it.
upload_2025-7-18_8-7-1.png It would have been a purchase by my wife and me for our daily cruising around and for those longer road trips. the vision it would have given us on the passenger side would take away any blind spots in driving.

Yes, a passenger side rear quarter panel windows for better viewing. Perhaps not for actual product delivery drivers that want to hide their products from the general public when parked on a street. But, it gave anyone driving the now open view sedan delivery better all around vision.

There will be the naysayers pointing out that it is not “considered” as full station wagon and that it is not a full sedan delivery. But, there is no doubt that driving and parking vision is greatly enhanced with this passenger side rear quarter panel window set.

Now, for the surfing crowd, sleeping in the back arrangements, only window coverings on one side is required for some privacy.

So, the 57 Chevy Sedan Delivery seems like a great candidate for this set of windows to give the driver more vision about who is next to the passenger side. (along with the A/C )Yes, you can put on larger side rear view mirrors, but then the styling of the cool Chevy sedans and sedan delivery cars is ruined.

Stalled for several days at $28,000…no way it sells for that price!? Guessing BAT is no different from eBay…bidders really chime in at the very end. Such a beautiful wagon.

  22. Nice package all around. I remember when BAT, listed mostly stalled projects for sale. This doesn't look like that!

I see a blank canvas begging for some graphic artistry.

Very nice! 24 hours out now and still looks cheap at 28k.
Side note: I am younger than the average age here and hearing myself put "cheap" and "28k" together still makes my mind spin. How times have changed.

I am really going to be surprised if this sells for less than $45,000…especially in my neck of the woods. Not sure how to tell if there is a reserve on this wagon or not. I find myself checking the bid several times a day, would love to have this ride.
