I am new to this site from Newnan, Ga. I have owned a few old Fords--1970 Mustang, 1966 Fairlane 500 factory 390 car--but recently scored my first one from the '50s. It is a 1957 D-code 312 T-bird with a Fordomatic trans. A September '57 production car, it sold new in '58 to a man in New Orleans. In '62, he sold it to a lady in Birmingham. She kept it 24 years and sold it to a local, who sold it to me. It runs and drives great. I replaced the leaky Holley carb with a Street Demon 625, and ditched the factory wheel covers for trim rings and chrome lug nuts, but other than that, it is as-found. I look forward to tinkering with it and modifying it for streetable performance.
Thanks. The color scheme is all original...black paint, black hard top, with black and white interior.
Welcome ,but go back and read the "read this first" concerning intros..then put the stock wheel covers back on it.
Yep, thanks wbrw. No can do re: stock wheel covers; already using them to play frisbee. Has Wham-O opened for bidness yet?
