Some things I've done to make my 57 drive better. Radial tires; the car came with wide white bias tires. I had forgotten that bias tires actually hunt for cracks in the road to follow. New front and rear sway bars from Quickor. That made the biggest difference in the way the car goes around corners. It now stays pretty flat rather than leaning way over on tight corners. The front bar is a much larger diameter than the stock bar. The rear bar was an easy install.

The steering is slow and I looked at the Borgeson gear, but the steering column would need serious modification to make it work. I've just gotten used to the slow steering.

A trick on entering the Bird; put your **** in the seat first and then swing your legs in. Makes it much easier than destroying your kneecaps on the wrap around windshield frame. Get out in reverse order. 57 Home 04.jpg

    Hey Tim!
It's a Custom, same as your S-22 but split bench seat instead of your buckets and console. Two taillights per side instead of three on your S-22. Found an old brochure from '63. Both cars were marketed as 'Sportsters' with the hardtop roof. It's a 260 4 speed car. Yeah, the T-Birds are an American icon but your last sentence disqualifies me from ever driving the thing. LOL My wife is the one that wants one. It might be best to hold off and have her test drive one before taking the plunge. If I got stuck with it, ain't no telling what I would do with it. :)

After I sold my roadster, I seriously considered this one in the HAMB cl***ifieds. I p***ed and bought a 40, but they're out there.
400 SBC, AT, 9 inch, front discs and PS. New interior, both tops, no rust, drive it home. Think it went for under 20K
