58/9 to 57 front clip swaps?

    just a fleating thought but can you switch the front sheet metal off a 58/9 chevy truck onto the 57 trucks with out any real major fab work?

    take a 57 truck and add 58/9 front sheetmetal

    i asume that would work then?

    the frame is just a little longer around the bumper so ya might have to add about 3"...

    so with only around 3 inches of frame missing the only problem you should have bolting the 58 clip to a 57 body is bumper stuff? maybe rad mounts?

    All the inner fender panels and I'm pretty sure the radiator core support are different so you need to swap out everything (sheetmetal) from the firewall forward.
    I wouldn't do it just to look like a '56.
    I too like the '58-59 as much as the '55-'57.
    If you need to replace bad/bent parts, go for it...

    hey tim, i,ve got a friend that has a pretty decent frt clip for a 58-59 if you be intrested.

    and i think it's just for the bumper that you'd need to screw with the frame but i'll ask him this weekend.
