Before Caddy-o owned it it belonged to Cowoc58 who is a good friend of mine. I was working on it with 30Roadster while Cowoc was getting settled in with his new job in 08. I would drive it to work, around town, and to the shop while it was getting worked on. This truck is what made the Amarillo/College Station/Austin connection.
Ah, man! Your ride is pretty cool too! It's much better than those sedans that were riding half an inch off the ground at cruise night. They were all dressed out rockabilly-like too.. Yours is a work in progress, right? iPhone - TJJ app
That's pretty cool. I always enjoy learning about the history of some of the nice rides on here. iPhone - TJJ app
Saw your truck on Hot Rod's event coverage page. So cool to actually recognize a truck from here. Still looks COOL!!! Mike
Yup.. From what Darrell's told me, it sounds like we're going to have a nice custom around here. Of course, he's driving it as is for a while first. Some pictures from last time I saw it.
"Yup.. From what Darrell's told me, it sounds like we're going to have a nice custom around here. Of course, he's driving it as is for a while first. Some pictures from last time I saw it." That's right ! I'm really enjoying the car...Matt did a really nice job on everything...top to bottom..
well son of a ***** how did I just see all this!!! Did I plant the bug in selling it at LSRU this year Darrell? I said I wanted to buy it back when I talked to you there. well damn! New owner, when you get enough of this truck and are ready to send it down the road. I WANT IT BACK! I originally built it in the early '90s as a high school project in Kansas it has sentimental value. Finally drug it to texas in '02, sold to jeremy nobs in houston around '07 ( i think), he sold it to Chandler (i turned down buying it back because of my silver '58). Heres how it looked from 1993-2007
yeah it's true..I really had no intentions of ever selling this truck but another hamber approached me at the Roundup with a trade offer for a 51 Chevy Deluxe. I had been looking for an early 50's car for a side project and this one was too nice to p*** up. I've been stockpiling ideas and parts for the 51 so hopefully I'll be offering up a thread on the car in the next few months..
Can't believe I missed this thread Daryl . Well I'm enjoying the truck a lot and made a few small changes. I built a new set of rear tubs first off. I tried to mock the shape of the fender openings. Also I finished the inner steps and recarpeted the floor and refoamed the seat. Also bought a set of narrow wall radials., the bias plys I couldn't the wandering on the poor south Texas roads Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I'll post more pics later guys. I hope y'all won't be offended that I changed the front . I love the white accents. Debating on doing the roof! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Man I love that truck. I would have hated to sell it if it were mine but good too see It will still be on the HAMB!
