ok this is my 58. i bought the cab and doors on ebay a few years ago. when it arrived at my door i was impressed with how nice and solid she was. a few weeks later there was a sweptline box on ebay. it was for a 1960 it was just what i wanted. it arrived. and again nothing to be disappointed about. in the same fashion along came a couple fenders. then a hood, a grille and radiator support. all were from different listings and several weeks and sometime months apart. within 5 months i had collected the entire body. now i needed a frame. on the local craigslist i came across a 1992 extended cab dakota, with a 5.2 magnum and overdrive automatic transmission. i went and purchased that. and i was all set to go

I can see it, unless there's supposed to be more than one thumbnail. Of course when talking Power Giant I was expecting a 354....

354 truck hemis had "Power Giant" decals on the valve covers. Was installed through '59 on big trucks, & a few '60s with factory 354s have been reported.

I have a 315 hemi 'Power Giant' from a late '50s Dodge truck.........Power Giant must have been the marketing name for any of the V8's used in larger trucks.

No, it isn't, power giants are 1.5 ton and bigger dumps, stakebeds and grain trucks. Sweptline isn't the whole series but a type of truck bed.

Aww, the power (and confusion) of the internet...From Wiki...

The C Series was a line of pickup trucks sold by Chrysler's Dodge division from 1954 to 1960. It replaced the Dodge B Series of trucks and was eventually supplanted by the Dodge D Series, introduced in 1961.
Unlike the B Series, which were closely related to Dodge's prewar trucks, the C Series was a complete redesign. Dodge continued the "pilot house" tradition of high-visibility cabs with a wraparound windshield introduced in 1955. A two-speed "PowerFlite" automatic transmission was newly available that year.
Chrysler called the Hemi-powered Dodge trucks "Power Giant" in 1957, and introduced power steering and brakes, a three-speed automatic, and a 12-volt electrical system.

    1952 Dodge pickup

A flat-sided (and thus wider) "Sweptline" cargo box came in 1959. The company also adopted the standard pickup truck numbering scheme, also used by Ford and GM at that time. Thus, the ½ ton Dodge was now called the D100. A traditional separate-fender body "Utiline" version was also built which had a GVWR of 9,000 lb

at any rate, i started a build thread, and from what i see nobody cares. meaning no disrespect. if your not interested in what i am doing or building there are other water coolers out there to congregate and ponder around.

We are interested, but there is only one pic so far. What is current status on the build? What motor will it get, etc?

I dig the 58-60 Dodge trucks. They are a bit ugly but I like them. I sold this one not too long ago.....decided I didn't have time to mess with it. It was a long wide bed with a 318 Poly

Don't mistake some good humored debate about the accuracy of the truck model for disinterest in your project. I think most of us, if not all, think what you are doing is good.

But, as pointed out, the difficulty with posting pics leaves us with idle time
on our hands......Grandma always said "idle hands are the Devil's workshop"
Looks like Grandma knew her stuff. :D

So you don't know how pictures are posted. Either? I belong to. A dozen forums and even own one of my own. And have no problems. Posting pictures on those. So I am not new to this

Ok, I'm a techno tard and I work on an old PC, not some new fangled machine that started life as a telephone... but my 'system' pulls pics from a photobucket account (properly resized of course) or thumbnails from my desktop.
Thumb nails are easy; after you type up whatever, scroll down slightly to Additional Options and click on Manage Attachments.
If I can do it anyone can.;)
